West-end Holiday Hampers & Children’s Toy Drive
Since 2012 the Neighbourhood Group has worked with the Salvation Army, Three Willows United Church, and Swan Moving to bring holiday food and gifts to west-end families. Registration for Hampers starts in November, please contact us for details. Hampers may be picked up in early December at Westwood PS 494 Willow Road. To donate to the annual Toy Drive or volunteer with the Hamper delivery, please call us at 519 826 9930.
Neighbourhood Food Pantries & Food Donations
With the support from our community partners we are able to provide emergency food assistance. Canned, dried goods and bread is regularly on hand with meats, dairy and vegetables provided when available. Fresh produce from the Co-operative Youth Farm is added in the summer. The Neighbourhood Group operates two Food Pantries, one at the Neighbourhood Group and the other in a not for profit housing location.
If you would like to donate fresh and other food items to any of our activities please contact us at 519 826 9930.
Westwood Good Morning Club
The Neighbourhood Group works with Westwood PS and volunteers to provide breakfast to children every day throughout the school year. The food for this program is generously funded by the Children’s Foundation Food & Friends program, and by neighbourhood donors.
The Neighbourhood Group works with our friends, neighbours, church & school communities to collect needed school snacks and family food donations. The annual Spring food drive takes place in May. With the support of Trillium West the Neighbourhood Group organized a Thanksgiving meal drive in October. This is expected to be offered again in 2019 and 2020. If you would like to donate fresh and other food items to any of our activities please contact us.
